English Springer
The English springer spaniel is the taproot from which all our sporting spaniels, with the exception of the Clumber spaniel, have evolved. From about the start of the 16th century the springer spaniel was used for “springing” game that was trapped in nets or flushed for the greyhound or hawk. Used today as a utility gundog, we expect our springer spaniels to hunt up, find and flush game and make the retrieve. Springers in the British Isles are bred from pure and ancient bloodlines.
